BACKGROUND
SACOMD and CMSA have agreed on the introduction of Workplace-Based Assessment (WBA) to enhance registrar training and to assess clinical competence. WBA will replace patient-based clinical examinations, and assessment of competence through WBA will be a prerequisite for entering CMSA written and oral examinations. SACOMD established a National Steering Committee in partnership with the CMSA to prepare for the implementation of WBA starting in 2025.
PURPOSE OF THIS SERIES OF THESE WEBINARS
The WBA Steering Committee wishes to engage with registrars and present regular updates on the progress made in the development of WBA for the education of medical and dental specialists in South Africa. Major achievements in each quarter will be highlighted and the next important stages of the development and implementation of WBA in SA will also be presented. The webinars will be an opportunity for stakeholders to put questions to the Committee.
