Prof Carla Kotzé

President

Prof Kotze registered as a forensic psychiatrist during 2013 through the grandfather clause at the HPCSA. She was appointed as the Head of Geriatric Psychiatry at Weskoppies Hospital during November 2013 and since then her focus shifted to the geriatric populations.While her clinical work mostly entails forensic observations and care and treatment of older psychiatric patients, her other interests include biomedical ethics, postgraduate training and research.She is an adjunct professor at the University of Pretoria where she is deputy chair of the Faculty of Health Sciences Research Ethics Committee and chair of postgraduate training in the Department of Psychiatry. She previously served as Honorary Secretary on the CMSA College of Psychiatrists
