- The candidate must be registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
OR
- Foreign graduates in medicine, surgery, obstetrics, and gynaecology whose qualifications are recognised by the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
AND
- The candidate must have completed internship, with at least another 15 months clinical experience.

Exit Examination: 1 online written paper; OSCE and portfolio of 1 100 notional hours.
THIS EXAMINATION WILL IN FUTURE ONLY BE OFFERED ONCE ANNUALLY DURING THE FIRST SEMESTER SET OF EXAMINATIONS FROM THE FS 2019.

PLEASE NOTE that candidates that wish to lodge an appeal against the outcome of his/her written examination results must do so in accordance with the provisions of the CMSA’s Appeals Mechanism Policy. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) are not made available to candidates for review in accordance with the CMSA’s Appeals Mechanism Policy.Â
