- 9 months minimum, up to a maximum of 24 months, supervised training at a teaching or CMSA-approved hospital / Allergy practice
- Portfolio containing logbook submitted with application

Exit Examination:
- 1 digital written paper;
- Structured oral exam.
The awarding of medals is decided by the exam steering committee of each semester’s examination (convener, moderator, president, secretary and the writing group chairs). Outlined below are the criteria for the medals from the CFP.
Eugene Weinberg Medal – This medal was donated in 2003 by the Allergy Society of South Africa and is awarded to the top-performing candidate in the Diploma in Allergology.
Certificates of Merit -Â Awarded to all candidates who have marks of 20% or more above the standard set cut score, or 75% or above in non-standard set exams.

PLEASE NOTE that candidates that wish to lodge an appeal against the outcome of his/her written examination results must do so in accordance with the provisions of the CMSA’s Appeals Mechanism Policy. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) are not made available to candidates for review in accordance with the CMSA’s Appeals Mechanism Policy.Â
