Part I:
Radiation Physics - 3-hour online written paper
Imaging Anatomy - two or three spot tests NO ORAL.

In 1992 THE RHÔNE-POULENC RORER MEDAL replaced The Maybaker Medal which was endowed in 1977. the medal is awarded to candidates who achieve excellent results in Part I of the Fellowship examination of the College of Radiologists of South Africa.

Since 2021, CMSA examinations have been conducted on an online platform. As a result, the questions remain within a secure question bank which is still growing and can no longer be published on the website.

Colleges are in the process of developing sample questions for examination purposes

Part II

Part II: 36 months in a numbered registrar training post, including 3 months in isotopes. - portfolio.

3 digital written papers; rapid reporting session and performance examination. 

Long Case Reporting written objective structured clinical examination (OSCE): Interpretation of radiological images and generation of an appropriate report
 
 

THE JOSSE KAYE MEDAL was endowed in 1973 by Mrs Helga Kaye and her children, in memory of the late Prof Josse Kaye who was an Associated Founder of the CMSA. The medal is awarded to candidates who obtain distinguished results in the Fellowship examination of the College of Radiologists of South Africa.

PLEASE NOTE that candidates that wish to lodge an appeal against the outcome of his/her written examination results must do so in accordance with the provisions of the CMSA’s Appeals Mechanism Policy. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) are not made available to candidates for review in accordance with the CMSA’s Appeals Mechanism Policy.Â
