CMSA Recognised for Gender Transformation

Posted: 2022-09-20 10:56

The Colleges of Medicine of South Africa is proud to have been identified by the Commission for Gender Equality, United Nations Women, and The Standard Bank Top Women as one of South Africa’s Top Gender Empowered Companies and as a leader of gender empowerment and transformation in South African business.

This accolade is a culmination of the ongoing drive of the CMSA to transform its elected and executive leadership both from racial and gender perspectives. Not only has this transformation made the CMSA leadership more representative of and responsive to the broad and diverse medical community that we serve, but it also reflects the importance of creating role models for our trainees and young academics.

I wish to recognise all those who have supported this transformation initiative, and especially our Immediate Past President, Prof Flavia Senkubuge for her bold leadership to transform the CMSA during her tenure as president of the CMSA and to make the CMSA a “People’s College”.

With kind regards

Prof JJ Fagan Signature
